How to take charge of your mood during menopause?

Mood swings are one of the major symptoms that occur on women, who are going through menopause. I know we all have our happy times and also have our sad times. However, mood swing symptom is different. For instance, you can feel happy and all of a sudden everything can change and you can feel down and sad. During menopause this symptom is caused mainly because of hormonal changes.

So, how can you take charge and take control of your mood?

Although mood swings during menopause related to hormonal changes within your body, we can still take control and deal with them. You can actually manage your moods a lot better. Obviously, one of the first things to deal with this symptom is to accept the problem and have desire to deal with it. Without accepting the problem, you will only ignore and make it a lot worse to deal with. There are few things you can do:

  • · Keep a diary to record the occurrences of mood swings. You need to make sure to record all mood swings. Also make sure to note down the things you were doing before it occurred. By keeping a diary and notes, you can be able to identify, what triggers this symptom and it can also help, when you go and see a professional about mood swings.
  • · As well as menopause, other events can also trigger mood swings. For instance, financial difficulties and personal issues. So, you can actually identify and deal with these issues.
  • · Sharing and talking with others can also help you to take the weigh off your shoulders. Talking can help you to express your emotions. If you keep those emotions entrapped, it can come back as more serious problem and will be a lot difficult to deal with.
  • · A regular exercise can also help you to manage your mood. By exercising regularly you increase the oxygen intake and this will result your brain to function a lot better and you will have clear mind to deal with the problems.

So mood swings are one of the main menopause symptoms, which can affect your life dramatically. Although it can be difficult for some, you can actually deal with this symptom by talking to others and keeping records of when they appear and why they appear. Ignoring this problem is definetly not the way to deal with it.
